Home Phone
What type of calls are included in my Home Chat™ cap plan?
Local, community, national, international and calls to mobiles are included.
What type of calls are excluded from my Home Chat™ cap plan?
Calls such as 1900 numbers, operator assisted, directory assistance and other special information or competition based calls are excluded. These calls are listed under Non-Home Chat™ calls.
I’m on the $99 Anytime Unlimited plan, what calls are included in the cap price?
On this plan, you can make as many local, community and national calls as you want (not including calls to mobiles).
How is the included call value of my cap plan shown on the bill?
The included call value depends on the plan you’re on. For example, on a Home Chat™ Starter plan, you get $50 worth of included calls. The included call value is pro-rated to the number of days from the sign up date to the end of the bill date, so it’s usually less than the full month’s amount on the first bill. If you make calls over the pro-rated amount, you’ll be billed for them.
Why am I billed for two line rental amounts?
This is because line rental is billed in advance. The first amount is in arrears, pro-rated amount from the activation date to your bill date. From next month, there will only be one line rental amount, billed in advance. If you’ve recently changed plans, you’ll notice a credit for the period that you paid in advance in your previous bill.
How are phone features billed?
Like line rental, all home phone features such as silent number, are billed in advance. You may notice two amounts: the first is a pro-rated amount from the date your feature was activated and the second amount is in advance.
Broadband
How is my broadband service billed?
Your monthly access fee is billed from the date your service is activated to the end of the bill date. With AAPT’s included WiFi wireless modem, we do not charge for broadband set up or self-installation.
How do I know what my broadband usage is for the month?
The amount you have downloaded is shown on the bill. The number of units shown is in MB (1024 MB equals 1 GB). Regardless of how much downloads or uploads you make, AAPT does not charge you any additional fees on top of your monthly broadband fee.
Mobile
How is my mobile service billed?
Your monthly subscription is billed in advance. On your first bill you’ll notice two amounts: the first amount is in arrears from the service activation date and the second amount is next month’s subscription. From next month onwards, there will only be one monthly subscription, billed in advance.
What types of calls are included in my mobile cap plan?
Local, national, mobile calls, SMS, voice mail deposits and retrievals are included in your cap. Mobile data is included in some plans — check the terms & conditions of your plan.
How is the included call value of my cap plan shown on the bill?
The included call value is pro-rated to the number of days from the sign up date to the end of the bill date, so it’s usually less than the full month’s amount on the first bill.
What types of calls are excluded in my mobile cap plan?
International calls, roaming calls, 1300/1800/1900 numbers, paging services and special services are excluded. Mobile data is excluded in some plans — check the terms & conditions of your plan.

What is a rounding adjustment?
The rounding adjustment on your bill simply ensures that the numbers on the bill add up. Because we charge for calls on a per second basis, the actual charges can go to 6 or more decimal places but invoices need charges displayed and charged to 2 decimal places (i.e. as cents). Accordingly, we have to round the charges on the invoice and add the difference between the charged and billed amounts as a rounding adjustment.
For example, local calls are charged at a flat rate of $0.175 but this is displayed on the invoice as $0.17. If you make 30 local calls, this displays in the calls section as 30 amounts of $0.17, or $5.10. The actual cost of these calls, however, is 30 amounts of $0.175 or $5.25 and this leaves a rounding adjustment of $0.15 which is then added to your bill.
